I’ve subscribed to Crochet! for several years. Through those years, they’ve improved the layout and offerings. Usually there’s at least one item that catches my eye.

There’s a good variety of patterns, usually an afghan or two, a baby or child’s item or two, household items, flower motifs, a few cute & some not so cute wearable patterns in each issue. You can expect some cute purse patterns, once in a while a scarf or shawl. The magazine seems to have a running theme that will last a few months…once it was flowers, I loved those, very cute, now it’s special stitch patterns…handy if you’re creative and like to design your own items.

Crochet! still uses some yarns I’ve never heard of, but they always give the yarn weight which makes it easier to substitute & there’s a buyer’s guide in the back of the magazine. I haven’t noticed many amigurumi patterns, but there’s been some. I made a frog a couple years ago.

The magazine includes a project page, Crochet! at a Glance, which has a photo of each pattern in the issue along with the page # it’s found on. You’ll also find a stitch guide, buyer’s guide info, the patterns are rated by skill level, & a chart explaining yarn weight. There’s a web page with additional information & usually an option to receive a free issue so you can decide if you like the magazine. You’ll find that info on their website.

They are beginning to promote their website more. The September 2009 issue includes some pattern photos, but you’re instructed to go to the website for the pattern.

I am mostly interested crochet wearables–this magazine along with the Interweave publication Crochet are highly recommended. The patterns are for a variety of skill levels so there is a project for everyone. I like “vintage re-imagined” patterns and the 2 above mentioned magazines fit the bill. They both also have some fresh and modern patterns. Occassionally Vogue’s Knit 1 and Knitting magazines have some great crochet patterns. Knit 1 being aimed at a younger, “hipper” crowd.

  4. Information on update and beautiful yarns. Ads with websites to obtain free patterns and purchase of yarns. Beautiful and simple styles anyone can make, highly recommend this mag. Can’t go wrong.

Hip, fun patterns – this is the only crochet magazine I’ve found that has patterns for clothing and accessories I’d really consider wearing. Not the old lady, cutsey stuff I’ve seen in other magazines. I love the updated look, and there are always plenty of choices for all levels of crocheters. Highly recommend to all those folks out there who are tired of boring afghans, kiddie sweaters in red, white and blue, and doilies!

  6. Our renters moved out a few months ago and left us having a mess to clean up. Not only have been there holes inside wall, they also destroyed doors, window frames and carpets. They have been quite smart and covered up the harm with pictures, posters and curtains so we didn’t realize the extent with the harm until they had been gone. Now we are fixing up the house so we can rent it again. Thankfully, this work is much easier as we have a laptop with wireless capabilities. We are capable to Get Free Diablo 2 Items Online. too as other shows so we are entertained even though toiling away. It is great that the Internet offers items of this nature.
